1. Hell’s Gate National Park

2. Lake Elementaita
This soda lake is near Gilgil Town. It is situated between Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, which are other key attractions in the Rift Valley. Lake Elementaita is a Ramsar site, and it has both greater and lesser flamingos.
3. Ol Karia
Visit the Ol Karia Geothermal Power Plant that situated near Hell’s Gate National Park.
Adjacent to this power plant is the Ol Karia Geothermal Spa, which has naturally heated water and is a great recreation spot. The pool has water with temperatures ranging from 30oC to 40oC.
4. Places to visit in Naivasha – Crescent Island
With a maximum depth of 30m (100ft), Crescent Island is the deepest area around Lake Naivasha. This Park is 15 minutes by boat from the shores of Lake Naivasha and 80 kilometres from Nairobi via the Moi South Lake Road.
While at the Crescent Island you can enjoy nature walks and view wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, dik-dik, steenbok, impala, and gazelles. This Park is also known as the bird sanctuary, and it hosts a variety of bird species.
5. Kariandusi Pre-historic Site
Kariandusi confirms Kenya is the cradle of humankind. The fossils found here date back to the Early Stone Age, about a million years ago. This attraction is close to Lake Elementaita.
6. Mount Longonot
Mount Longonot is one of the attractions you see when driving into the Great Rift Valley. The purple silhouette of the 2,776m mountain stands out on the floor of the gorge, viewed from the Great Rift Valley View Point.
Mount Longonot is about 90km from Nairobi, and this extinct volcano is part of Mount Longonot National Park. Animals to see here include buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and gazelles. Mount Longonot is the best destination for a day hike.
7. Crater Lake
The Crater Lake is a green soda lake at the bottom of an extinct volcano on the western side of Lake Naivasha and north of the village of Kongoni, and it is located 10 kilometres from Naivasha town and about 90 km from Nairobi.
This Lake lies within a private game sanctuary with spectacular green water. The lake attracts many flamingoes, and the surrounding forests and plains have plenty of game (birds, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and elands.).
It is an excellent place to explore on foot as it has nature trails the vegetation around the crater.
