Everything you need to know about NationHela

NationHela is an international money transfer service that was launched last year on August by the Nation media group and Diamond trust bank. Initially, this service was first intended to facilitate the sending of money to and from the diaspora but since it is also a visa card, it has also been adopted for use in payment of services and goods.

NationHela facilitates sending money to Kenya from any part of the World which has opened up several opportunities for expatriates who did not have an avenue for trading with Kenyans.

How to acquire a NationHela Card

The card can be easily sourced from any Diamond Trust Bank branch or any Nakumatt Supermarket branch across the country. You will be required to pay 500/= for the application of the card.

Application of NationHela Card

  • You will be required to fill some document and give copies of various documents in order to get the card.
  • You will need a copy of your national ID card
  • A copy of your KRA pin (Optional but may be required by some banks)
  • You will fill a registration form as guided by the professional
  • After the registration process, the card will be linked to your phone
  • They will activate your card using your phone via *348# USSD
  • The USSD will prompt you to send the card number and ID which you will input
  • You get a confirmation from NationHela stating that your card has been activated.
  • The confirmation message will come with a password that you should save to make payments via the internet using the NationHela platform

After this process, you will be advised to wait for up to 72 hours for the card to be fully activated and ready for use.
