The Chancellor, Mount Kenya University, Prof John J. Struthers on behalf of the University Council, Management Board and Senate is pleased to inform all esteemed graduands who have qualified for various University Academic Awards and conferment of Degrees. That the 16th Graduation Ceremony is to be held on Friday, 9th August 2019 at 9.00 am at the Main University Graduation Pavilion Grounds Thika.

The graduation venue and ceremony
The graduation ceremony will be held at the Mount Kenya University, Graduation Pavilion Grounds Thika- Garissa Road and will be presided over by the University Chancellor Prof. Victoria Wells Wulsin MD, Ph.D. who will also award academic awards and confer Degrees.
Clearance and registration
All Prospective graduands are required to clear with the University by 2nd June 2019 through the Online University Management Information System, for their names to be included in the final graduation list.
Note: Graduands are not required to apply for graduation. You only qualify for graduation once you are done clearing with the institution and your name is on the graduation list.
Verification of academic records and order of names
You are hereby requested to check and verify your name as from 20th May 2019 to 9th June 2019. Any changes in spelling and order of names should be done within the specified period at the respective campus admission office(s).
The Senate will approve the graduands list and it shall be posted on this website.
Rehearsals
Graduands are therefore required to participate in the graduation rehearsal to be held on Thursday 6th July at the Thika- Garissa road Graduation Pavillion Grounds from 10:00 am.

Graduation Gowns
Remember that, the Academic Award Convocation Fees is Mandatory and the Graduation is for Hire for a Non-refundable fee. all Payable to one of the following Bank accounts.

All Graduands are expected to be in full graduation attire for the rehearsal session and the graduation ceremony.
The hiring of Graduation gowns will start on 26th June 2019 to 5th July 2019. Graduation gowns are to be collected from the office of the respective Deans of Schools, at the Main Campus and from the Examinations offices in respective Campuses during Office hours.
The graduation gowns are to be returned on or before 21st July 2019. Delay in returning the gown will attract a penalty charge of Ksh 500 per day.
Punctuality
All graduands will participate in the graduands procession on the graduation day. The procession will be done in order of their respective schools at 7.00 am. Graduands and their guests will be expected to have taken their seats by 8.00am as latecomers will not be allowed into the graduation grounds.
