Giraffe Center: founded by the late couple Betty and Jock Leslie Melville in 1979. Betty discovered the sad plight of the Rothschild giraffe which was near extinction numbering only 120 at the time on an 18,000-acre ranch in Western Kenya that was scheduled for sub-division and settlement;
The Karen Blixen Coffee House and Museum: This is the beautiful farmhouse where Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, lived between 1917 and 1931, until she left Kenya, going back to her native homeland(Denmark) after a series of personal tragedies.
