Well, it is that time of the year where the Best Kenyan Bloggers are about to be feted. The annual Kenya Bloggers Awards is now accepting submissions from your favourite bloggers.
The announcement was made by the Bloggers Association of Kenya (Organizers) on 11th of January 2018. The annual event goal is to identify and award great bloggers in Kenya as well as promoting the practice.
Last year the event was a success with over 10,000 blogs submitted and the public cast over 800,000 votes. This is an indication that blogging in Kenya is serious business and I am sure this year the number has gone up.
Here is the timeline for this year’s bloggers awards:
The timeline this year is as follows:
- Submissions phase – January 11th, 2018 to March 6th, 2018
- Judging phase – March 7th, 2018 to March 27th, 2018
- Online voting – March 28th, 2018 to April 30th, 2018
- Winners’ Gala event – May 12th, 2018
Last year event saw a number of new winners as the rules were changed allowing a maximum of three wins consecutively, this paved way to winners like Magunga who entered in the Awards most competitive category, Creative Writing Blog.
